A Simple Tech Issue, and Unplugged

Editor’s note: interesting and educational supplemental read for English Language Arts, Adult  Education, and other related topics.  Thank you, Roger.

Being plugged in or not: Summer Solstice by Roger O. Green is the story, in part, of a pressing need for a laptop charger after the battery wound down, halting work and leisure tasks.
This a thoughtful read illustrating how environment, weather, and technology impact our lives and how weather does not have to be catastrophic to disrupt work-life activities outside the traditional office setting.
It is a reminder of the importance of having a battery-operated tool, especially as our environment changes unpredictably.
It is content that inspires reflection. I thought of Thoreau.

And I laughed too as I suddenly recalled the extra battery charger bought with my last laptop purchase. Just in case something happened to the charger included with the new laptop.

As of today, the backup charger is still in the box and the seal was never broken.
What is your backup plan?
